Dr. Melissa Tufeld began seeing patients in 1989.  She began her career as a Child Psychologist, working with children and their families, with an emphasis on Psycho-Education Diagnostic assessments and Psycho-Dynamic Psychotherapy.

She currently sees adults and couples in her private practice who are dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, blocks in creativity, relationship, parenting issues, career change and infertility.

Dr. Tufeld also works with patients with chronic illness with an emphasis on Multiple Sclerosis.  She currently facilitates a group for women dealing with chronic illness.

Dr. Tufeld is a Psychological Consultant for pharmaceutical companies and health care professionals.  She is also an on-air contributor for television and radio broadcasts.

She enjoys speaking to groups and has an extensive background in leading workshops as well as public presentations.

Dr. Tufeld served for eight years as a supervisor at The Maple Counseling Center supervising MFCT’s, social workers and predoctoral and postdoctoral candidates.  She is also a supervisor for other psychotherapists in her private practice.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Tufeld attended New York University and CGI at The Chicago School for Professional Psychology.

She trained at the Wright Institute in California and was a fellow at the Reiss – Davis Child Study Center.
